Abstract:

This study explores the performance of CdS/CdTe solar cells, focusing on the impact of the CdTe absorber layer thickness, using PC1D. Key findings include the significant effect of the absorber layer thickness on cell performance, with thinner layers potentially leading to performance limitations. Our analysis also provides valuable insights into the design and optimization of CdTe solar cells, highlighting the delicate balance between CdS thickness and optical properties in achieving high efficiency. The study offers valuable insights for further research and potential improvements in the design and efficiency of CdS/CdTe solar cells.
